Clare Matthews – Artist Profile
Clare is a committed artist whose work is authentic and dynamic. Her love of colour, light and texture are shown to full effect in her abstracted landscapes and pure abstract paintings.
She begins by working completely intuitively using a variety of media and tools, applying paint thickly, scraping it back, adding glazes, collage elements and line work to create a visual drama. Finally she imposes some careful editing to pull together a strong composition and bring the work to completion. Her work is bold, energetic and expressive.
